Do you ever wonder if the world has its panties in a bunch? I am reading the news coverage about the whole Koran/toilet issue and I have to say that it is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

People are offended that pages of this book were reported to be flushed. I get that. I would think it disrespectful if someone flushed the Bible (My two year old would just think it was good fun, but he flushes everything.) and I am offended by the people who burn the US flag, too. Both are on the same level as a copy of the Koran, as they are both treasured symbols of an ideal.

However, when all is said and done, they are simply things. Objects. Fairly worthless. We’re not talking about the original, or the only copy (I’d be ticked if someone destroyed an original historic relic), but destroy a copy, and I just don’t have any sympathy.

If you want to demand an apology for something, demand an apology for the blood that has been spilt and apologize to the mothers who have lost their children on both sides of this sad, sad war. Put value on what ought to be valued. That would be LIFE, not some stupid copy of a book that can be replaced.
