Bits And Pieces

I keep trying to update because I have things to say, but all I really have are short little bursts of information that you may or may not find amusing or interesting, so after three days of starting posts and deleting them, well, you’re just going to have to put up with this massive run-on sentence and whatever comes next.

I am dizzy. I have no idea why. I’m going along all fine and then- WHAM- sit down or fall over. I just started taking Claritan for these amazing allergies I’ve developed recently, so I am wondering if I should blame that or if it’s just one of those special Lou things that just happens. At any rate, I’m sitting a lot.

Jonas informed me the other day that we needed another baby. His reasoning? “Ours is broken!” And he’s right. Ours broke and turned into a toddler, who is very fun, but definitely not a baby, which she proved the other day by climbing onto the table and falling off. She scraped her nose doing it, and me, being the stupid mom that I am, tried to wipe the “dirt” off her nose about five times before realizing that I was looking at rug burn. On her nose. Ow.

Jonas isn’t the only one who is getting a little baby hungry around here. It’s been hitting me rather hard the past few weeks (Yes! Put Lou on anti-depressants and suddenly she thinks she can leap tall buildings in a single bound and manage three children. These are antidepressants, not narcotics, right?) When I was expecting Maggie, I swore to myself that next time I got baby hungry, I would get a dog. I spent two hours online last night looking at dogs and you know what? I don’t want a dog.

You know how I said I was singing again? I had no idea how much I sing until I stopped for awhile. I now find myself driving along making up Fleetwood Mac/ Joan Baez/ Tom Petty/ Fiddler on the Roof medleys. Seriously, I flow from one tune into the next, no rhyme or reason. It’s incredibly annoying.

I am doing a major de-cluttering around the house and now have a huge stack of stuff to sell. Among these things are several scrapbooking items, including three Quickutz fonts. If anyone wants them for cheap, just drop me a line. I also have bucketloads of stamps, papers, cardstock, embellishments, and a Canon Rebel that need new homes. I am astounded at the sheer amount of stuff we have. I clean stuff out at least once a year and at every move- and every year there’s more. It’s insane.

Oh! The cloth diapering! I must update! It is still going well, but I have decided that I really don’t like the Bumkins covers or All In Ones. They spring more leaks than all my other diapers combined. I’m going to buy more from Tallulah Baby and phase those out.

Chris’ office just called. He might be leaving for Hawaii tonight. Hopefully he gets home soon so I can tell him. I’d better see if I can track him down.

  3. oh, Lou -

I used to get dizzy spells when sinus infections were coming on at heavy allergic times of the year - get this great non-drug item (at the drugstore, natch!) called “Simply Saline” - you literally mist out your sinuses with it and it WORKS really quite well with NO side effects.

Also,if you are remotely Kudos to you for the cloth diapers. I did my kid in them (we had diaper service though so not all that tough!) and the covers we had worked great but I forget what brand they were.

  4. I meant to say “if you are remoretly interested” in my santized but still useable diaper covers you are welcome to them (free) but I would understand if that’s too icky/wierd/personal of an idea! hahah. Just send me an email if you want ‘em. I cleaned them in hot water/deteregent/borax and rinsed w. vinegar. They are SOMEWHERE in the vast black hole that is my attic :)

  6. I have done that thing where I rub at dirt and rub and rub and rub til I FIANLLY figure out it is a booboo. Stupid moms unite.

I get dizzy on occassion, as well. Kevin says just because my blond hair is gone I shouldnt expect to not have a dizzy moment every now and again. :-p

I do hope it is nothing though :)

Oh oh, and the baby thing….I have four, and uhhhh I want another one or two. Yea, like I could handle that.

  7. Oh, what quickcuts fonts do you want?

And I’ve been suffering with baby fever lately, at it’s really obnoxious and rahter annoying because I KNOW I couldn’t handle another one. Crazy hormones.

  9. Lou - If you really like using prefolds, I HIGHLY suggest wool covers. I was a Fuzzi Bunz user myself, but when I did have a stint of fitteds, I exclusively used wool. Sugar Peas and Celtic Wool to be exact. :)

  10. It could be the anti-depressants making you dizzy. It could take a while for them to kick in and the dizziness to subside, or it may not subside at all. Maybe give the Dr a call. Or it may be that the Ad’s mixed with Claritin aren’t a good combination? Just a thought hun. How about I just send you piccies of my new puppy when I get her and you can croon over that instead! ;-)

  11. I’m glad you are figuring out what you like and don’t like in cloth diapers.–I’m sorting through mine, clearing out what I didn’t like and trying to add what I do before the new baby arrives in a few months. Justification for money spent? I would have spent it on disposables anyway… Terrible logic, I know. I’m actually feeding my sewing addiction sewing some diapers and covers–I spend less that way (maybe…).

I hope you dizzy spell passes–As for being baby hungry–you can work that out on your own. Even after five children, I still get baby hungry, so number six arrives this summer.

    Best wishes to you!

  12. Hey Lou -
I am a fellow pea who keeps up with your blog…As a recent stay at home mom with a 4 and 2 year old, your picture gave me a good chuckle today!

What quickutz fonts do you have…I would be intersted. I have the handle but no fonts :-)
