I Feel Lucky. . .I Hope
I have decided to subject myself to torture. I have voluntarily chosen to shred my nerves and participate in an activity that has the power to create emotional distress not unlike that of labor. I’ve entered a scrapbooking contest.
My friend Amber is big into scrap contests, and she put the idea in my head. Therefore all stress will be blamed on her, ya up for that Amber? See, Amber is a WINNAH! She enters these contests and has a habit of coming out on top and walking away with the prize package. I enter them, pace the soles off my shoes, start dreaming only of patterned paper and adhesive, and begin to second guess every creative thing I do. Pretty, it’s not.
The contest I entered is at a relatively new site called Memories From Scrap. The game is Scrap Survivor, just like the crazy television show legions of people are obsessed with. It functions on the same premise. I entered a layout and was chosen to play on one of the teams. Now, every Monday a challenge will be issued and I have to have my scrap project up in the gallery by Friday, Midnight. Then we spend the weekend voting each other off. Brutal, no? A challenge is issued every Wednesday that is due Friday mornings. The people running the site will vote on those and the winner gains immunity from that week’s final cut.
I now have two things to agonize and obsess over each week until I get booted off or win (I’m hoping for the latter). I am also hoping that if I can’t win, may I stick around long enough to be spared the icky feeling that would come from being kicked off first. Also, with two scrap challenges a week- there’s gonna be a lot of work getting done in my scrapbooks! So much, in fact, that if I make it a month or two, I will get to treat myself to a new album. So there’s motivation!
Because of all of this, you guys can expect a lot of scrappy posts for the next little bit. To begin with- here is the layout that got me into the game: Happy Bum! The challenge for this layout what that it had to focus on journaling. Since I’m rather verbose, it wasn’t too tough ha!

The journaling is taken directly frommy blog, it’s from the entries talking about Maggie’s switch to cloth.
