Peace Inside

skg

I did this layout with the May kit from Scrappy Giraffe Kits. Having been under a lot of stress lately, I have been very blessed with peace inside of me, even when at times there has been none around me. If anything is to be learned through difficult times it is that our Heavenly Father loves His children very, very much. It is impossible to diligently seek for the peace of His love in your life and not receive it. The journaling reads:

“It’s about faith. It’s about holding on. It’s about knowing who you are, where you came from and where you’re going. It’s about finding joy in the details. It’s about growth and learning. It’s about letting the Lord change you. It must be sought after, but He will always grant you peace inside.”

Miss Me?

I’m back people, blogging away at 2:03 am, probably not making a lot of sense, but back in action nonetheless.

So- recap:

April: Horrible wisdom teeth removal surgery. Everything went wrong. Mouth was too small, teeth were too deep, I got infections, I got dry sockets, I started passing out left and right, I lost 12 pounds (not complaining), I took an insane amount of drugs that made me high, stupid and useless. All of this together can be summed up by saying: PAIN: lots of it. April sucked on so many levels..

May: Chris came home from the Middle East! The deployment ended and my awesome husband came home to his needy and sick wife and his crazy, needy children, all of whom needed him. Did I mention the needing my husband? Yes, I missed him like crazy. Ultimately we did very well with him deployed, but Oh My Stinkin’ Heck does my quality of life improve when he’s home! And, Chris was able to take over a month of leave- so I don’t have to give him back to the air force until June 19th! Wooo! More leave I say!

June: We have been cleaning and organizing freaks, but aside from that- we mostly sit around staring at each other reveling in the fact that we are in the same time zone and CAN stare at the other’s ugly mug first thing every morning and last thing every night. We are bonding over crayon marked walls and shoe storage systems. We are back to our old habits of watching Farscape together- and we are playing with our cats (yup- that was plural- more on that later). We are setting up our new bedroom set (more to come on that too). We are commiserating over yet another Best Buy customer service fiasco involving my lemon of a Drebel. We are playing video games and scrapbooking (respectively, not collectively). We are worshiping, serving, loving, relaxing, eating, sleeping, and breathing- as a family. TOGETHER. We are ENJOYING and EMBRACING the quiet life. Honestly, we both just want to be in the comfort and safety of our little home with our little family. It’s simple, it’s secure, it’s serene. It’s just right.

So there you go. All caught up. The short version.

To make it up to you guys, I will be doing at least one post a day through the end of July- AND I will try very hard to show off at least one new scrappy creation each day- how’s that for payback? So- check in often- lots to come :-)
