They Never Agree To Just Put Me Out Of My Misery.
Hello! I know, what happened to the blogging? Well, unfortunately a super deluxe tension headache and a migraine du jour hit me and I’ve been in some serious pain for about 5 days. It was the kind of pain that no migraine medicine touched. I slept, I had a massage (the poor Chinese man who had the pleasure of spending and hour trying to massage tissue with absolutely no give was clearly pooped by the time he was finished- I may have been the most tense person he had ever touched), nothing mattered. The world was a black hole of agony. I actually cried from the pain, which is not something I do often. I did natural childbirth with no tears. I’m a tough chick, but this headache had me on my knees beggin’ for my mama.
I finally went to the doctor yesterday and pleaded for relief. I think my exact words were, “Fix it or put me out of my misery.” The doctor let me know that what I had going on was not just a migraine, as I had thought (You know, what with the light sensitivity and shiny aura in my right eye and the total lack of depth perception) but I also had a killer tension headache- so no matter what I did, I could never fix both at the same time with what I had at home.
A nice shot of a muscle relaxant later, the pain began to lift. When it started to come back about six hours later, I popped the two other pills the doctor had prescribed, one of which happens to be a narcotic. Now, the doctor swore to me up and down that very few people have any other reaction than getting a bit sleepy on this drug. As usual as is with me and drugs, I am the exception, not the rule.
I took it right before bed, got up thirty minutes later only to discover that I was incapable of walking a straight line, and everything was funny. Really funny. And you know what? I can’t remember half of it, but I know Chris and I had a pretty good time!
Thankfully, this is the first morning in a week I’ve woken up not wanting to vomit from pain. Yippee! I don’t feel perfect, but I feel so much better than I did before. Now I just haveto attempt to catch up from the past few days of not being able to function- and do it in a way that does not cause tension. Ha!

I don’t know what to say. I feel so bad for you. I’m glad you were able to find some relief.

I’m glad you’re feeling better! I think you need a hot tub to melt away the tension. (Chris- take note!) Or maybe some yoga.

Yikes! I remeber the bad headaches you used to get, they hardly phased you! I can’t imagine how much worse it would have to be to make you cry! I am glad that you are starting to feel better. Take care.

I go to my chiropracter for my headaches he presses pressure points and pops my neck and it helps soooooooooo much. i know how you feel, and no-one was more skeptical about a chiropracter than me, but he is my hero!!!!!!
