Pinch Me?

Today the kids went to a friend’s house for a few hours in the orning. When I picked them up, I informed them that we were going to go home, have some water, and then it was naptime. Maggie kind of shrugged, Jonas began to whine.

However, when we got home five minutes later I tucked Maggie into bed, gave her a kiss, walked out and shut the door. I got Jonas into my bed and shut the door. I then grabbed a book, plopped down on the swing by the back door and thought, “That was too easy.”

And then the kids slept for 3 hours straight. At the same time. No weeping, wailing or gnashing of the teeth involved. It is hours later and I’m in so much shock I’m writing in fragments.

  1. Oh girl you need to do this every day. Your kids will get used to it,expect it; perhaps still complain, but they’ll know that you mean business! I do homedaycare you know, and I’ve had literally dozens of kids get accustomed to our sleeping patterns here. All the parents say the kids sleep better here than anywhere else. And all I do is routine. =) glad you got some Leah time!

  2. ROFL! I agree with the routine thing- although my kids are outgrowing some of it. Way to go- insisting on Mommy time!!
