Krumkake

new Quickutz

This year one of my goals was to learn to make a few of the traditional Norwegian goodies I grew up on. Krumkake required the purchase of a beautiful iron and the passing down of the recipe from Grandma. Krumkake is a crisp, rolled cookie that can be eaten plain or gussied up with some whipped cream and berries or pudding. It is excellent either way!

  4. Yummy! We make it every year for christmas, it just wouldn’t be the holidays without it! We dip ours in melted chocolate and sprinkles sometimes, the kids LOVE that.

  6. I love these cookies, my mom used to make them all the time using her Grandmother’s recipe. I may have to see if I can get the recipe and buy the special griddle

  8. If you make them, you *have* to share. Otherwise, it’s not fair to blog about them. That’s teasing.

  12. Here in Sweden we call those cakes rullrån (=rolled wafers) and I just love them. My husband’s grandmother makes the best rullrån in the world!
