Are these new chipboard bits not fabulous? They just begged to be played with- see them at CHA from Cosmo Cricket! This line is called “Snorkel”.

It is CHA weekend and I am agog at all the new releases! I can finally share a few things I’ve done for Cosmo Cricket over the past few weeks, and Quickutz too- sooooo how about something scrappy every day for the next week? Sound good? Make up for some lost time? I felt bad going from blogging almost daily to barely saying a word for a week!

It has been INSANE at my house! Chris is terribly jet-lagged. He has no idea when to sleep or be awake, and will be starting weekend duty night shifts in a few days. Yow! Poor guy.

Jonas has been very ill since Saturday with a high fever/stomach bug/cough thing that he just cannot seem to shake. I took Maggie’s temperature this morning and she is now spiking a fever as well. Chris has taken them both at the doctor right now. I’m assuming it is just a funky virus, but with Jonas’ pre-disposition to bronchitis and pneumonia, I like to check that out. I wish they had some sort of home litmus test you could take to tell you if something was just an irritating virus or something more problematic.

I am kind of stupid with exhaustion at this point. There have been a lot of very late nights and weirdly scheduled naps. I feel like I’m pulling shift work with my husband. We’ve hardly seen each other with both of us sleeping off the parenting while the other person is on Motrin and barf duty. I was going to go to CHA, but really started feeling like I was needed here a few days ago. Now that we are in the thick of illness, I see why I had that feeling. Yikes!

On top of all this, my friend Chandler visited for a few days. It was great seeing her for the first time in nearly ten years. You’ve got to love the people in your life with whom you can pick up a conversation like you never had any time or distance between each other. Some people just click forever.

So that’s what’s up here. I have a big box with my fancy new kit from the Nook all ready to be played with and I’m so brain dead I can’t scrap! If I can just pull a few hours of actual sleep off. . .maybe I’ll get a little playtime in over the next few days and enjoy this weekend. We shall see!

We just started getting this magazine at the BX on base called Craft’s ‘n Things. I had never seen this one before but it is a really fun one to flip through if, like me, you like to dabble in several different areas and get inspiration from different crafty mediums. I checked out a few issues and there are some really fun scrapping, card making, jewelry making, knitting, etc projects inside! Most come with instructions. I found a great article about Terri Conrad, the lady behind all the gorgeous paper at Webster’s Pages and this making fabric charms idea that I’m tucking away to try sometime in the future.

I looked up their website and they also have a free newsletter I thought you guys might like to see. And for those of you who submit your work, it looks like they are open for some new featured artists!
