I had a lot of fun with this layout. Every once and awhile I get to scrap something that is all mine. It isn’t for a company or a design team- just me. And so I mix and match and play, and it always gets my creativity going. (Don’t get me wrong, designing is a blast, but creating without “owing” anyone or worrying about “standards” or having any strings attached whatsoever is sweet. I just played, didn’t even notice the time that passed, and took a mental break while my hands got dirty.

I used Lilybee paper, Making Memories Sabrina paper, Pink Paislee letters, Maya Road pins, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, Prima lace trim, and Prima pearls.

I made this, and then proceeded to have two genuinely rotten days dealing with people who are neither sweet, nor peaceful. And it helped to walk into my craft room and just look at this. It brought back the quiet, the encompassing peacefulness that is nursing, and taking in that moment was all it took to make the day a little better, the priorities a little clearer, and my own convictions stronger. That’s kind of why we make stuff, isn’t it?
